In this workshop, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the traditional cider making process from fruit to cup. In addition to exploring the techniques of hard cider making and tasting some of our favorite ciders, you'll explore preserving freshly pressed juice for hot cider along with how to make the classic French tarte tatin pastry.
The day will include:
- Apple harvesting from the orchard
- Processing and pressing fruit for juice
- Setting up fermentation vessels
- Lunch
- Heating and preserving juice for hot cider
- Blitz puff pastry techniques
- Tarte Tatin baking
- Cider tasting
At the end of the workshop, participants will take home preserved cider as well as a personal batch of the beginning stages of hard cider to ferment at home.
