Morels - April 26, 2025

Morels are elusive little mushrooms, but the taste is worth the effort.  Only found around certain trees at specific soil temperatures and moisture, morels typically pop up between mid-April and mid-May in the midwest.  The season lasts for around a month each year.  Through this workshop, participants will learn to identify, hunt, and cook morels.

The day will include:

• Identification education
• Morning hunt for morels in the forest
• Lunch
• Afternoon hunt for morels in the forest
• Cooking techniques for morels
  
• Dinner

At the end of the workshop, if the bounty of the hunt is large enough, participants will take home morels to dry for future use.

Location: Bittersweet Farm, Weston, MO
