Preserved Tomatoes - September 6, 2025

There are few things better than a fresh tomato picked at the peak of it's ripeness.  It is the epitome of summer.  In our tomato preserving workshop, you will learn to safely pack and store the flavor of those perfectly ripe tomatoes for eating in future months.  In the depths of winter, upon opening your preserved tomatoes, you'll discover a hint of summer in a jar.

The day will include:

• Harvesting tomatoes from the garden
• Processing tomatoes for preserving
  
• Lunch
• Cleaning and packing jars
• Sealing and canning tomatoes
  

At the end of the workshop, participants will take home two jars of preserved tomatoes.

Location: Sandusky Garden, Kansas City, KS
